Hello! I'm decembi and welcome to One Second Spring!

I'm passionate about translating Chinese Novels into English and writing my own romance and fantasy fiction. Every now and then, a drama captures my heart and I just have to recap it as well!

  1. Hello Decembi,

I have been silently and religiously reading all the c-novels translations from you and others. Please accept my gratitude.
Indonesian is my first language, English is second and Mandarin is third.
I am kinda inspired to start my own blog of translating Indonesian novels (yes, there good ones and it's a pity that their readers are not that many) to English because there are very few of them translated into any other languages, which is a shame. But I am concerned with the copyright issues that might surface if I decide to do so.
I would be so grateful if you could give me some advices. Cheers.

    1. Hello Blue Bamboo,

Thanks for your comment and support :)

I'm afraid I won't be able to give you legal advice on this. I think it also depends a lot of the kind of novels you want to translate. Generally, the translation community is just fan-based and non-profit and we try and get the author's consent when we are able to contact the author. Still, the copyright of the story resides with the author and if we are ever ask to remove our translations, we would.
